Students look at helicopters
SAU Tech Aviation Maintenance students get a look at one of the Armys latest helicopters a 2013 Eurocopter UH 72 Lakota. The aircraft flies out of Camp Robinson in North Little Rock, helping to support the efforts of tracking fugitives and locating missing persons. Hot check office is
closed until Jan. 2
The office of the Union County Hot Check Program in El Dorado will be closed from Dec. 16 until Jan. 2. Payments can still be made via mail at 307 American Road, Room 113, El Dorado, AR 71730, or can be left in the offices drop box.
No road testing to
be offered Jan. 1 2
There will be no written or road testing Thursday and Friday in observance of the New Year holiday. Also, the Ouachita Partnership for Economic Development office will be closed Thursday and Friday.
County offices are
closing for holiday
The Ouachita County Courthouse and the Ouachita County Extension Service office will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the New Years holiday. The sanitation department will run on Wednesday, but not on Thursday. Thursday and Fridays trash collection will be picked up on Friday.
Elected officials to
be sworn in Jan. on Thursday, Jan. 1, in Courtroom A of the Ouachita County Courthouse. Friday at the Champagnolle Landing Senior Center, 910 East 4th St., El Dorado. Admission is $6 per person. Music will be provided by Blue Rhythm.
Literacy group toThe Literacy Council of South Central Arkansas will be closed from Dec. 22 until Jan. 5.
Apps are taken for
CPD citizens class
Applications are being taken for the Camden Police Departments Citizens Academy. The police department will take applications through Jan. 13, and the class begins on Jan. 20. For more information,
